In depth...

Sometimes, a topic that I've touched on in one of my log entries may need a little elaboration, or I may want to respond in more formal fashion to feedback I get from readers. Whenever I feel it appropriate, I'll post those types of essays here.

For example, I might include an essay on a controversial subject, like the ethics of capital punishment. Or, I might write a personal essay about growing up or my philosophy of child-rearing.

Writing essays requires a little more work than writing blog posts, but it also gives me a chance to really shape and express my thoughts.

If the Stimulus package is unappealing to those in authority at the state and local levels, then those folks may choose to reject the money being offered to them. The same applies to those businesses that are included in the plan. Just don't take the money. Continue to do business in the way that got them into there current economic condition. We, who believe that Jesus is the Messiah of the world, also have the option to support any business that we choose. Our guide is biblically the Holy Spirit of God, and not Talk Show Hosts who get paid to create contention and controversy. Let our ears be filled with the voice of our Shepherd, that we might walk according the wisdom of the author and finisher of our faith.

2Corin.10:12-1312For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. 13But we will not boast of things without our measure, but according to the measure of the rule which God hath distributed to us, a measure to reach even unto you.

To speak of things previously unspeakable ... this is that moment.

The accusation has been put forth that I, and a multitude of other Black people, voted for President Barach Obama because he, like us, is a Black American. I will add clarity to this misperception. In addition, there is misguidance toward ANY other candidate who lost to President Barach Obama, that they would have better represented the choice of the Lord our God. To this point clarity is more than indicated; it is imperative.

“All things work together for the good to them that love God, to them that are called according to His purpose.” What statement is made when the center of a moral man’s complaint becomes secondary to the agenda of the Lord God Almighty? Is that complaint without merit, or is it relegated to a position subsequent to the incontrovertible will of God? The man wants to focus on abortion, but God has placed the spotlight on racism. That which was whispered in secret is now shouted from the rooftops.

When President Obama says that he wants the future of America to offer the opportunities for success and prosperity to all Americans, he includes ALL Americans; not only those of European decent. He wants to create an atmosphere in which even Black Americans can access the means and mechanisms to appropriate life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I, and a multitude of other Black Americans, share this desire; for ourselves and especially for our children. Our President must consider the dreams of his two Black children when making determinations that will affect America and his family. I must give like considerations to the aspirations of my two Black children as I make the determinations that will affect their future. So this President places in view the freedom and liberty of every American as His point of focus. This is why so very many American citizens of every race, colour, gender, and sexual orientation voted for this man, whom the Lord our God determined to become the forty-fourth President of the United States of America.

Just a little footnote …

What a sad state of affairs within the Christian-Political community when a person with an open view towards abortion is preferred, even within the Christian community, over yet another who only professes Christian mercy and morality. Our Lord tells us that we will know them by their fruits. The fruits of President Obama are words and actions of mercy and consideration for all Americans, while others having only spoken of equality, have demonstrated clearly discriminatory preference for the wealthy, the influential, and for those of European decent. The old saying still rings true: the proof is in the pudding. mindfoodprime

The Perfect Believer

“I am God Almighty; walk before me and be blameless.” Gen. 17:1

Just as Abram, the first of the circumcision, was commanded to walk before God without blame as Abraham, so we, the adopted, are commanded to be perfect as the kingdom of God. These tabernacles were condemned to death along with the souls that they contained, but were rescued from destruction by our Messiah who died in our place, which satisfied the laws that we had broken. Our spiritual circumcision is accomplished whereby we put off the sins of the flesh by taking to ourselves the circumcision, or death, of the propitiation of our sin; even Jesus our Messiah. Therefore, we can only be perfect and blameless if, when God looks at us, He sees us minus our sins, which are taken away by His Messiah. In this, The Rock had to be smitten to accomplish our reinstatement into the good graces of God our Creator.

However, after we have been granted access to the Throne of Grace as active citizens of the Kingdom of His Holy Son, we need only to speak to God in the name of the Rock of our salvation, confessing our sin to have it removed from us. As spoken in 1John 1:9 … “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness.” So just as in the days of Israel’s wilderness experience whereby each year the high priest had to enter into the Holy of Holies to offer the sacrifice for the sins of Israel, so our sacrifice, Jesus the Messiah of the world, is set in the throneroom of God to forever separate us from our sin, and clothe us in the perfection of His obedience.
